Hi!
7-11 didn't do free slurpees on July 11 this year, but I noticed that we could get 1 free slurpee any time in July. So one Friday we ventured out for 1 free slurpee and I bought 4 more. Yum!:
Over the 24th of July weekend Dad took the big boys backpacking while A and Lulu had a cousin exchange sleepover for 2 nights. Here's A at Ry's house. You went to the dollar store, out to eat with Grammie, watched movies, and did lots of swimming in their pool:Lulu and Anya did tennis, Cherry Hill, baking, the park with Pluto, and lots of youtube watching:
Dad had a bad stomach pain just as you started to drive up the morning of backpacking. You guys didn't make it far before Uncle John had to turn around and bring Dad home. He was in so much pain. Luckily the pain went away and when he called a nurse to ask what it could have been, they said it sounded like a kidney stone. So Dad rested that day and drank lots of water and seemed to be ok! The next morning you were off bright and early to meet up with the rest of the cousins. TJ, you love backpacking in the Uintas. Hammer, you like it a little but thought it was too much hiking in the 3 days. You guys hiked in to Dollar Lake which is about 10 miles, slept the night there, hiked to King's Peak and back which is 11 miles, slept one more night, and then backpacked back out to the car which is another 10 miles. That means you hiked a total of 31 miles and a lot of it was carrying your heavy bags. It wasn't easy, there were tears and throw ups and blisters, but you did it! You guys are strong! Hiking to the tallest point in Utah is a great accomplishment and one that you won't forget. Or if you're Hammer, then it's one you won't ever have to do again! Some pics Dad took of your trip:

The last Friday in July we went to Layton Fest, which is food trucks and booths and live music. I bought you snow cones and you were stoked. It was perfect weather and nice to just relax:
