Life Lately

September, according to my phone:

B day is trombone day:

On Labor Day we went out to the Salt Flats. It was a smoky day. Here is a tree sculpture we passed on the way there:
Welcome!:

You guys each had a turn to drive the van out on the salt! That was your favorite part:

We went to Nevada for a second to turn around:
Target:
Remember the nasty little worms I found in the grass? It's hard to see them here but they were sooooo gross:
Fall tennis began:
I went on a beautiful walk with Pluto and with a friend:

Chile's Independence Day lunch celebration:
Our neighbors down the street let us pick a lot of their tomatoes. TJ found a cool looking one:

This is a fun primary activity the two little boys got to do. Learning to index:
Learning about Pioneer foods:
and you listened to some missionaries and heard some stories about your leaders' ancestors. These three silly boys pretended to be dead before the activity started:
One Saturday morning TJ and I did our stake's 5K:

Then TJ went to the library for some chess lessons and practice:
I went with a friend to Laura's play!:
A likes his treat from tennis:
A got 3 tickets for free ice cream from the carnival. He shared them with and we bought one more. These were just "1 scoop" and they were huge!:

I volunteered at the bike rodeo at the school one day:
The mountains were so colorful!:
Paint night with the deacons. Only 2 boys came:
So many tomatoes to process:
Hammer took this picture at the end of the piano recital that I did. I served rootbeer floats out on the porch:
The end.

September's Field Trips

 Kiddos,

The first field trip we did in September was to the sunflower mania just down the street from us. We went at sunset and took pictures of A and of Pluto:

The next week, while we were deciding what to do, we saw this great plume of smoke that didn't look too far away from us:
The boys wanted to drive over as close as we could get to check it out. So off we went, meandering through new neighborhoods to the West and South until we got to the edge of civilization. From there we could see the fire burning in the wetlands. We found the best spot just up the street to see it, parked at a school, and walked over to take some pictures:
It's kind of hard to tell, but if you zoom in you could see the big flames!
Pretty random field trip! It was interesting to see though.
The next week Dad came with us on our field trip! We went to see the scarecrows at the USU gardens. We were racing the sun, but we saw them all before it was dark! My camera was dirty for the first few pics, but here are the cute scarecrows that we saw:

It was such beautiful weather that evening. It was a fun outing.
The last field trip of the month was split into two parties. Dad took Hammer backpacking with the boys in the ward:

and the other kiddos did the school carnival with me. We didn't get many pictures cuz we were busy! The boys were spending their tickets and jumping on bouncy houses, Lulu was volunteering at a game, and I was helping with the auction baskets:

I had helped my friend put all of those baskets together, and it took forever. It was fun to see how much money the school made. We had a great time at the carnival, with beautiful weather then too.
So that's it! Fun times.
Love,
Mom
