Fall Break 18

Hey buddies,

We started out our Fall Break staycation with a visit to the Golden Spike National Monument. Hammer, you were excited to use your 4th grade National Park pass for the first time!:

You had fun doing the Junior Ranger and earning your badges:

Next we drove over to the Spiral Jetty at the Great Salt Lake. It's an art installation. It was pretty cool to see:

But our favorite part was walking out on the salt to get to the water. It was so beautiful. The salt looks different every few feet! In some spots it's mixed with mud.  Some spots it is pink. Some spots it is a fragile web like texture.:
We made it to the water. I was so excited to look for the pink water. Well, I don't know if it was the time of year or what, but it wasn't very pink. There were a few pink spots and a few rust colored spots, which was cool:

You all loved picking up chunks of salt, and some even made it home:
It was beautiful weather and we had so much fun. After exploring there for a while we headed into town to get our car, as we had all fit into Grammie's to go on our excursion. We did some shopping and then headed to Grammie's for dinner and to sleep over:
The next morning we hit the cheese factory and then met all of the cousins at the pumpkin walk. It was a little cool but the sun was sure shining on us. This was our first time to the pumpkin walk and we loved seeing all the cute scenes:

At the end you got a donut holes and a picture with a witch!:
Next we tried a sandwich place with rave reviews that Dad has been dreaming about for years called Logan's heroes:
They were really good, but pretty ordinary subs. It's always fun to have a picnic:

After eating we found the Stokes Nature Center. We walked the trail, checked out backpacks, and explored along the river. It was fun, but would have been better if it were a little warmer and if there had been any wildlife to explore among the pretty trees:

Then to end the fun we got ice cream with your cousins at the Aggie creamery. It's the best. No pictures from that event, but I did take a video.
The rest of the weekend consisted of yard work at our own house and lots of playing outside while we could. It was a pretty fantastic fall break. Thanks for coming along and being excited about everything. You guys are the best travel mates.
Love,
Mom

September's Phone Favs

Hi!
I can't believe it's already October. I swear it was just the last day of Summer. So strange. It has been nice to have cooler evenings mostly because that seems to have helped the fires and thus the smoky air that plagued us all Summer.
Here's what we did in September. Life lately, according to my phone:

Beautiful evenings playing outside after dinner:

 Smore's on the barbecue:

Look who started bringing home books from Kinder to read at home! It's pretty exciting and so fun to watch Fish learn to read:
TJ and I had a fun date to the farmer's market one evening. The giant bubbles were a huge hit:

And you got to make a craft and then get your USU ice cream. Mmm:
Cousin Ky had her farewell. Saying goodbye. You are cute cousins huh?:

And at the end of the month Dad got to go hunting so Grandpa came up to help one evening. We had dinner and then Lulu and I took the boys to their final soccer games that were at the same time and at the exact same time as Hammer's Cubs raingutter regatta race:
I love watching you guys grow and have fun. Love you,
Mom
