Dear Mr T,
Every morning we walk Lulu to the bus stop, just 2 houses up the street. You always run out in your jammies with a jacket and shoes. Sometimes Hammer comes with us, but more often than not he's still sleeping at this time of the morning.
The neighbor kids all love you. They always call your name, run over to see you, and wave goodbye as they get on the bus. Not gonna lie, you love the attention.
One of my favorite things about you though is how you wave bye bye. You look more like you're honking an imaginary car horn or washing a window than waving, but everyone knows what you're doing. Twice a day you enthusiastically grin and wave bye bye to the bus, but now you also do it to every car that passes by. It's just the cutest most sincere thing, and every driver that see you waves back.
I was talking to my neighbor about how friendly you are, and she remarked how you are such a charmer. That really is a good word to describe you. You are charming!
I wanted a picture of you waving this morning, but since the bus had already gone and no cars were driving by, this was the best I could get:
Love you my friendly bug,
Mom
Ps. Sorry I'm still putting you in this tiny jacket. I didn't' realize how funny it looks til I saw these pictures. I guess it's time to get the next size out for you!

God's Masterpiece
Dear Family,
Today we went on a special field trip. We went to find Fall. And find it we did!
I told you guys that we had a surprise planned for you. I gave you clues to help you figure it out.
First, I told you that you needed to go potty and get your shoes on. The second clue was that we were bringing baggies of trail mix. The third clue was that we were bringing the camera. I showed you the last clue, a red leaf from our backyard, as went outside and got Pluto to bring him inside to his crate.
It was fun to watch you try to guess what the surprise was. First Lulu you thought we were having a game night. Then maybe doing stamps. Then you figured out we were going somewhere and you and Hammer thought it was a hike. When you saw the leaf in the backyard, Lulu you said, "We're going to find Fall, and take pictures of it? That's cool!"
We drove up to a ski resort called Snow Basin.
I am telling you the truth, I have never seen leaves like in this in my entire life!
It was just incredible how many trees were colorful and how bright their colors were.
We ooed and awed as we drove up the canyon and ate our trail mix. Then we let all 3 of you kids out to explore just one small area at Snow Basin. Here are some of the pictures we got.
Pretty good proof of the awesomeness we beheld, huh?:
It was such beautifully perfect weather too. We rolled the windows down on the way back for quite a while. Lulu, you laughed at your crazy fly-away hair and wanted me to take a picture of it. I'm glad I did, not only to see your funny hair, but to document the joy you felt as well.
It was a great outing, and I'm so glad we went at the perfect time to the perfect spot to witness God's masterpiece called Fall.
Love,
Mom

What I Love About You Hammer, Part 1
Dear Hammer,
You know what I love about you? You make me laugh every day.
Sometimes you don't mean to be funny. My laugh catches you off-guard and you are usually pleased, although sometimes embarrassed because it wasn't meant to be funny.
Most of the time though, you try to be funny. And it works.
You are very clever and quick-witted, especially for a 3 year old.
You make the funniest faces.
And you have some really funny dance moves.
Today you and Lulu were playing dress-ups, and this is what you came up with:
Very cute. The hat is my favorite part.
And then when I asked you to smile, this is what you pulled:
Thanks for making life fun little Buddy.
I sure love you my Funny Man,
Mom

What I Love About You Lulu, part 1
Dear Lulu,
You know what I love about you? I love that you are always drawing pictures, especially if they have an MOM at the top and it's a picture of me and you. You always draw me with brown hair, and you told me that I don't look good with eyebrows. Eyebrows make me look angry.
Here is a picture of you. Sorry that Mr T spilled water on it before I could take a picture, but it still looks awesome huh? The nose is my favorite part.
I think you are a great little artist. Keep up the creative work!
Love you,
Mom

1st Day of Preschool
Dear Hammer,
Last year you had to wait in the van while Lulu ran excitedly into her preschool, 3 times a week! You were usually sad that you couldn't go in too. I told you when you were a big boy it would be your turn to go to preschool.
And guess what? You're a big boy! It's your turn now!
I was a little worried you wouldn't want to go, now that it's finally time. After the big move to our new house you had a few months there where you wouldn't go anywhere without me. I guess moving upset you a little. Luckily, you have been doing so much better lately.
Daddy and Mr T took you to your first day at your new school. You were just a little nervous, but Daddy was there to make sure you were ok. The second day of school I dropped you off and you went right in, not scared at all. And you loved it!
I am proud of you Buddy! You have adjusted well to our new home now and you will absolutely LOVE going to preschool twice a week. You are so ready for something that only Hammer gets to do.
Love you my big boy,
Mom
PS, just like Lulu, I made you a scrapbook page too. Don't you look handsome?!

Kindergarten
Dear Lulu,
Kindergarten is finally here!
You were very excited to go to a big girl school.
You were also very excited to wear your new shirt on the first day of school. You picked it out yourself, and I must say, you looked mighty fine.
You were also excited to ride the bus to school.
Can you see a theme here?
The first day of Kindergarten was very EXCITING!
I did not get teary-eyed watching you get on the bus. I was just excited for this new phase of your life! Maybe even as excited as you were! I have to admit, I loved buying you a new shirt, watching you lay out your outfit the night before, waking you on the first morning to tell you the big day was here, taking your picture a million times, and waiting with you at the bus stop. Being a mom is so fun. I love watching you grow and learn and enjoy life.
I hope you enjoy Kindergarten all year long. I know you will.
Love you cutie pie,
Mom

Life Lately, August Edition
Dear Family,
August was busy, and fun, and productive, and hot!
Here's the proof, from August's cell phone pictures:
August was busy, and fun, and productive, and hot!
Here's the proof, from August's cell phone pictures:
Dad and I celebrated our 9th anniversary with dinner at Pats Bbq
We had an early morning park day, before it was too hot. Mr T, you got pretty dirty, of course.
We went to my cousin's wedding. Mr T, you love your Uncle Brent!
And Mr T, you started wearing real shoes, and stealing Hammer's Elmo slippers.
We adopted a dog from the SL shelter, and named him Pluto.
Lulu, you had your first haircut in a salon!
JC Penny had free haircuts all month long, and Lulu you loved feeling special in the big chair. You had about 5 inches cut off, and look great. I still wanted it kind of long so you can still be my little Rapunzel.
Our crazy Puppy, kind of camouflaging with the dirt and rocks of our backyard.
Mr T, you looked adorable taking your car for a little drive through the backyard
This is just a cool old church in Kaysville. I have a thing for photographing old buildings.
We had lots of play time outside with the hose and the sprinkler. It was the only way to stay kind of cool and give the dog some attention too!
I worked on and finished the Dr Seuss mural in our toy room
We broke out the slip-n-slide and it was a blast!
Pluto loves to eat acorns, and even stood up to pick them off of our tree one time
Lulu, remember when we found these beautiful flowers clearanced at the super market so we bought two bouquets? We got one for our table, and one for you to give away to one of our neighbors. You love making other people happy, and this was a great way!
For family night we enjoyed Italian Ice at one of our favorite places called Igors. Thanks for taking my picture Lulu. You're a great little photographer. Mmmm, love this place.
I dragged all three of you to a computer repair shop. The "alligator", as you call it Hammer, was the best part of the whole outing! And I love how you are wearing two different flip-flops buddy. Trying to find our shoes when it's time to go is sometimes insane. Maybe we should do what Daddy wants us all to do and put them back where they are supposed to go? Maybe.
Every night we take a walk after dinner when the weather has cooled off a little. I love how you just relax in the wagon Mr T. It's just so cute.
Up close and personal with Pluto
Hammer, you and Mr T get filthy every day
I made a back-to-school decoration, which is supposed to look like a cake. Lulu, you were pretty excited to take it to your back-to-school party that your friend Holli invited you to.
Yes, more pictures of my favorite dirty boys.
Mr T, I just thought this picture you accidentally took of our feet was kind of funny. You smash all those phone buttons as soon as your little fingers get a hold of it. I have to make sure the keypad is locked!
And lastly, we made robots out of cereal boxes with our besties, Kate and Graham. Remember how much fun you had decorating and deciding what each button should do? Hammer, your robot is on the left. He does a dance if you blow on one of his buttons. And Lulu, you named your robot MUV and he can fly if you push his fluffy pink button!
So, we had a great month, didn't we?
Thanks for sharing it with me. Can't wait to see what the next month brings.
Love you all!
Mom
