Kids,
We had so much fun last summer in Idaho that I decided to take you back! We went to Idaho Falls this time, mainly because we wanted to use our Get Out Pass at Bear World and the Safari Park. We explored a lava field called Hell's Half Acre and toured the Potato Museum. It was cute but small:
We also checked out the zoo, which was really crowded with field trips and some of the lemurs were off exhibit. So that was lame, but we still enjoyed seeing a lot of animals:
Red Ruff Lemurs soaking up the sun:
Hammer loves getting cheap Walmart drinks or slushies:
Hammer baptized all 3 of us in the Idaho Falls temple:
The next morning we did the safari park in the morning. We were the first ones and only ones there for most of the time. We drove through the foxes, bison, wolves, elk, bears, and then fed the fish:
The baby wolves and foxes were very cute:
We decided to drive through again! The bison babies had the zoomies and were nursing. We may have seen an elk cleaning off her brand brand brand new baby too on our second go-around:
Next, it was time for Bear World.
We purchased the tour that took us around on the bread truck. We threw bread at the bears and it was so fun and funny:
TJ had looked up a spot in the river to find good rocks, so we pulled over and let him explore for a bit:
Back to Idaho Falls and we decided to walk around downtown where we were staying. We sampled some cheeses (not great), looked through a fun toy store, and took pictures of some of the street art:
After dinner in our Airbnb apartment we walked the other way to the Greenbelt Trail. The Japanese Garden is really pretty:
It was sunset and a really pretty time of night to be out exploring:
Here's our cute apartment:
On the way home, a Saturday, we stopped at Lava Hot Springs to try to use our Get Out Pass. Unfortunately I hadn't noticed we couldn't use it on Saturdays so we paid to get in. The water was really hot. Really really hot and they didn't have a cool pool to go between. It was kind of expensive for how long we stayed and small:
We drove home in time for dinner. It was a great trip. We had lots of fun.
Love you!
Mom
